Last summer I went to Asia and have begun a travel sketchbook. Here are some of my drawings...

Turkish travel book

In April 1994, I had a beautiful trip to Istanbul, with a small detour via Bursa, on the other shore of the Sea of Marmara. I made my first (and only... for now !) "travel book."

Maybe I'll try to do my second during my next trip, which will take me in the same direction... but much further !

At the end of February, I spent some days in Jura, a very nice french region close to Switzerland. I had meant to bring back something in my small pad. Here are two drawings :

French April Fools' Day

Today, in France, it's the Poisson d'Avril ("April Fish") Day. Yes, I know, the French are bizarre ! If you want to learn more about our way to celebrate April Fool's Day, please, go there.

Welcome !

Why this blog ? Because I am a French books for children author (sorry for my bad english !) who likes traveling and meeting people from everywhere. I already have a blog in French called Correspondances ! But, with this one, my little "English" corner, I hope to go out of my usual professional universe.

Why this name ? Cornélie is not my real name - not either my pen name ! I chose it as a tribute to my maternal family. Indeed, one of my foremother was called Cornelia de Cordua. Her (and my !) Jewish ancestors came from Andalusia to Java, in Indonesia, via Portugal and Netherlands. At the end of the 18th Centuries, her daughter leave Java to come back to Europe...
So, readers from The Earth, welcome at the Cornélie's Corner ! I will try to publish here some notes about my work and travels. Perhaps will I show you drawings and photographs...
